We have completed one of the most demanding scopes of work along the 275 kV onshore cable route for the BC-Wind project. ⚡🌊
The P&Q team has completed three horizontal directional drilling (HDD) crossings with a total length of nearly 1.8 km, as well as service roads for the 275 kV onshore cable route as part of the BC-Wind project, developed by OW Ocean Winds POLSKA.
The longest HDD crossing, extending over 900 metres, was completed beneath the dune and Spacerowa Street in Lubiatowo. The other two, each approximately 450 metres long, were routed beneath an archaeological area and a peatland.
The use of HDD technology enabled us to deliver this demanding scope while limiting interference with particularly sensitive areas and maintaining high standards throughout the works.
The next significant stage lies ahead – the installation of the 275 kV power cables. The cables for this scope are being supplied by TELE-FONIKA Kable S.A.
Step by step, the infrastructure that will connect the offshore part of the BC-Wind project with the onshore power system and enable power evacuation from the offshore wind farm is taking shape.
